Blog Caroling Christmas 2009

Everyone ready to sing?  Below are my two favorite Christmas carols, one religious and the other secular.  Like footMaven, I sing much better online then in person!

Away in a Manger

Away in a manger, no crib for his bed,
The little Lord Jesus laid down his sweet head;

The stars in the sky look down where he lay,
The little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay.

The cattle are lowing, the baby awakes,
But little Lord Jesus, no crying he makes.
I love Thee, Lord Jesus; look down from the sky
And stay by my cradle til morning is nigh.

Be near me, Lord Jesus; I ask thee to stay
Close by me forever and love me, I pray.
Bless all the dear children in thy tender care
And take us to heaven to live with thee there.

Jingle Bell Rock

Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock
Jingle bells swing and jingle bells ring
Snowing and blowing up bushels of fun
Now the jingle hop has begun

Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock
Jingle bells chime in jingle bell time
Dancing and prancing in Jingle Bell Square
In the frosty air.

What a bright time, it's the right time
To rock the night away
Jingle bell time is a swell time
To go gliding in a one-horse sleigh
Giddy-up jingle horse, pick up your feet
Jingle around the clock
Mix and a-mingle in the jingling feet
That's the jingle bell,
That's the jingle bell,
That's the jingle bell rock.

(Written by Jim Boothe and Joe Beal.  First released by Bobby Helms in 1957. Lyrics from christmas-lyrics.org.)

Merry Christmas everyone!  Blessings to you and yours this Holiday Season!
