Update

Dear People of the Page:

I’ve been silent here for sometime now.  Just not a lot to say I guess but I have been working on two projects.

  1. Transcription of a newspaper listing for Comal County Texas Voters in 1868. -  When I found this newspaper listing, I thought it’d only take a couple of hours to get copied but that soon proved a mistake.  The newspaper block letters are missing and illegible (at least to me) in several places.  I finally had to ask for help in transcribing the list.  A new found Twitter friend, Frances Ellsworth graciously volunteered and has been transcribing the list as well. Hopefully with two eyes on the project, the list will be useful when it is finished.
  2. Templates for the U.S. Federal Census Non-Population Schedules, Agriculture 1850-1880 – While searching Ancestry for more documents on my Schmidt line, I happened across a “Agriculture Census Schedule”.  The main problem was the headings on the form itself were so blurry as to be almost unreadable.  So I looked on Ancestry for a template – none.  I searched the web – none.  I even went to the “go to” in census templates, Census Tools – none.  So I decided to make my own.  I’ll have more to say about the forms later.

Until then…

Happy Hunting!
